Join the NUEA for a preview performance of the new play THE CHILDREN, along with a talkback after the performance featuring playwright (and former NU professor) Michael Elyanow, dramaturg (and NU alum) Emilie Beck, and director Jessica Kubzansky!
A re-imagining of the Medea myth, THE CHILDREN is about what happens when a member of the Greek chorus magically transports Medea’s children away to save them from their murderous mom – but instead of sending to the ancient city of Athens, they accidentally end up in present-day Athens, Maine. The play combines Greek tragedy, broad comedy, and puppetry in order to tell a story about how we survive through telling stories.
