Indie Film Panel
The NUEA is thrilled to announce an Indie Film Panel featuring five amazing NU alumni filmmakers:
- Steph Green: Director, Run & Jump (starring Will Forte). Steph is an Oscar-nominated director, and her feature debut Run & Jump was released by IFC Films & Sundance Selects.
- Gita Pullapilly: Writer/Director, Beneath The Harvest Sky. Gita was recently selected as one of Variety’s “10 Directors to Watch” for 2014, and her film Beneath The Harvest Sky had its world premiere at TIFF, its US premiere at Tribeca, and was acquired by Tribeca Films for distribution.
- Matt Ratner: Producer, Match (starring Patrick Stewart, Carla Gugino and Matt Lillard). Match premiered this year at Tribeca and is adapted from the Tony-nominated play of the same name.
- Ben Wagner: Writer/Director, Dead Within. Ben is a Film Independent Producers & Writers Fellow, and his film Dead Within, which was written by and stars fellow NU alumni, was recently acquired for US distribution by Millenium Entertainment.
- April Wright: Director/Producer, Going Attractions: The Definitive Story of the American Drive-in Movie. In addition to being a programmer for festivals such as Sundance and AFI Fest, April is an independent writer, director, and producer with several films to her credit, including her recent documentary Going Attractions, which is available in theaters, VOD, and DVD.
Come see clips of these filmmakers’ latest projects and learn about how each was made. Our panel of filmmakers will also answer your questions about their experiences with the festival circuit, financing, and distribution.
