Help Amy Thorstenson (MFA, Writing for the Screen & Stage ’13) with her Kickstarter!

From Amy:

Sensuous 64 is a radio drama about a sex advice show on an intergalactic space station. It combines sex positivity, science fiction, and a dose of off-kilter humor… think Savage Lovecast meets Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

It takes inspiration from the campy sci-fi radio dramas of the previous century and the current interest/openness about sex positivity and packages it into everyone’s favorite new medium: the podcast.

It combines everything I’m interested in and I’m super excited about it! I’d love if you could check out the project at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2007771147/sensuous-64-a-sexy-sci-fi-podcast.

THE CABINING (comedy/horror, 82 min): When Todd and Bruce, a pair of wannabe horror screenwriters, head to a remote artists’ retreat seeking inspiration, they find death and deception instead. One by one, the other artists get knocked off, each in a more gruesome way than the last.

The morbid atmosphere proves perfect for Todd’s writing, but will he live to finish the script?

From Brian Patacca (C 98): Brian is looking forward to coaching a Master Class on June 20th in Los Angeles. Special for NU Alumni, come audit Actor Salon in Los Angeles or New York for free.

From Warren Rohn (Comm ’50):

DELIGHTFUL ROMP SET IN SOUTH CENTRAL

“Old White Dudes Can’t Rap” is a mixture of Spoken Word and Music laced with Frivolity — a fun event that started as a Jazz Musical and morphed into a Verse Play. It focuses on a mature white guy who tries to break in as a rapper at a South Central Music Club. Aptly named Club Nylon, with a bow to the Cotton Club in New York, the business is struggling to stay profitable.

Performances are scheduled for July 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27, with presentations at The Performer’s Corner, 214 Hardy Street in Inglewood. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm, Sundays at 4:00 pm.

Open Seating is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. For reservations and other info, contact Warren Rohn at MarketPlan. Phone Number: 310-499-8889. Email:
