I’m happy to announce that my short film, Dollop, was named as an official selection to the 2014 Phoenix Film Festival, which takes place April 3-10. The film will be screened multiple times during the festival (specific times of the screening are still tbd). For anyone in/near the Phoenix area that week, the festival will be held at the Harkins Scottsdale/101 Theater, 7000 E. Mayo Blvd, Pheonix, AZ.

Congrats to NU alum Eoghan O’Donnell (MFA ’08), whose apocalyptic drama pilot THE MESSENGERS was picked up by The CW!

THE MESSENGERS starts with a mysterious object crashing down to earth. A group of seemingly unconnected strangers die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending Apocalypse. Read more at Deadline.

Congratulations to NU alum Maeyen Bassey (C’98), whose documentary 419 (formerly MY NIGERIA) was spotlighted as one of the African films to watch in 2014! Read the article in Africa Screen, and like the documentary’s Facebook page!

NU alum Tucker May (C’12) was just chosen as the new Johnsonville Big Taste Grill Master and is touring the country on the Big Taste Grill Tour! Learn more and read blog entries by Tucker at the Big Taste Grill blog.

RUN AND JUMP, a new feature film directed by NU alum and Oscar-nominated director Steph Green (C’01) and starring Will Forte, is currently screening at the West Hollywood Sundance Cinema location. A ton of Wildcats worked on this feature, so it’s a great film to go out and support!

Brian Patacca (C 98) had a wonderful time speaking at Northwestern University School of Communication in January. He taught a life and career coaching course to actors on how to balance a successful life and acting career once they graduate. Additionally, Actor Salon Los Angeles expanded into a new space in Miracle Mile this past month.

My design group, The Current Sea, is proud to present PRISM PIPE (http://www.prismpipe.com), the new visual music // live film score event at pehrspace on the third Monday of every month. The event will take on a different form and feature new performers each time, while featuring the interplay between live music and projected visuals at its core.

This month’s Prism Pipe on February 17th features film composer Craig Wedren, fresh from the Sundance success of “They Came Together,” along with ambient musician Brian Griffith and video artist Zara Ruckus.
