CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
TV writers/Screenwriters have your work seen by agents, managers, producers and other industry professionals in LA|NU 2015, the NUEA’s annual talent showcase taking place the week of NOVEMBER 15th (final dates TBD).  LA|NU is a highly anticipated  three night event that features NU alum actors* performing in an evening of scenes written by NU alum writers. Former LA|NU participants include Jessica Lowe (Wrecked, Blended), Naomi Grossman (American Horror Story), and director Jason Winer (The Crazy ones, Modern Family) among many others. To have your work considered, follow the submission guidelines and submit up to three scenes no later than 11:59PM SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH to .

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
In honor of the Wildcats’ go-to public transportation, the theme of this year’s showcase will be THE PURPLE LINE.  Writers can explore any subject matter or situation, but all submitted scenes must take place on an EL PLATFORM. The setting can factor as much or as little into the content of the scene as you like…any way that it inspires you.  Be creative (we can’t stage 10 break-up scenes) and most importantly have fun.
▪Scenes may be of any genre, however keep in mind that the piece needs to be stageable with minimal props and set pieces.

▪All actors will be chosen out of the NUEA membership, so writers should be generally wary of including roles outside of our talent pool. In other words, no roles for small children under about 16 years old and no characters that require an actor to play older than 50 or 55.  Sure actors could play older or younger but in a showcase as this, its best for actors to be seen playing in their realistic age range.

▪Scenes should be no more than five pages. The pace of the show is snappy with a runtime of only about  80 minutes so short concise scenes work really well.

▪Showcase scenes tend to work best with fewer characters (generally two or maybe three equally featured main roles with no or limited support roles)
*ACTORS – CASTING WILL BE IN EARLY OCTOBER. LOOK FOR AN AUDITIONS BLAST IN A FEW WEEKS.
